Mike's next bike : Bianchi TSX, more pics, 30th May

Re: Mike's next bike : Bianchi TSX

That looks a real beauty Mike.
Hopefully you will be pleased once you've given it a clean up as from looking at it here, I wouldn't be respraying it if it were mine. It really does look nice.
The TSX has the conical 'rifling' the length of the main tubes, unlike SLX which has it on the ends of the tubes. TSX for multi day racing, tours and SLX for single day racing. My Squadra was TSX and a fine riding frame it was as well.
Looking forward to watching this come together.

Re:

Thanks Jamie

Some may think it a crime to not build it up with Campag, I will be using Shimano Ultegra 6400 tricolour on it. I don't have any d/t 8 speed shifters yet, but apart from those I have a bike's worth. I do have some 9speed Dura Ace ones doing nothing though, so may fit those.
Also need a seatpost. An aero one would be great, and being a bigger frame than I normally get - ie. my size  - I may find one would be long enough.

Hi Mike ...you speak about a white steel made F????...... used by Baldato with MG-GB before the Team 1996 switched to Aluminium :D Bartoli also rode one to 3rd at 1995 La Doyenne

White? No , this one is celeste. Pics to follow after tea!

Have you heard back from Gregg yet?

Mike

...Greg is still working on the project - he emailed
yesterday

Hell ... where did you found Briko stinger? I am looking for many years after...
Haven't gone for Stingers my friend, I prefer Shots. As seen on Cipo's face on the second page of the thread. And the other rider? The name Stefano Della Santa rings a bell.
I would get the hair gel too, but these days it would just polish my scalp!
Cinelli cork ordered now

Re:

Now, where can I find some 20year old team shorts? ! Believe it or not, there's an NOS pair on ebay, but not bibshorts and in small.
Oh , and if anyone spots a Briko hairnet type helmet, let me know please ;)

Live action role play.

It might better satisfy your desire to dress up.

Re:

I'm glad I didn't know that!
The things you get up to in the Cotswolds!
Currently at work, polishing a 7402 crank  busy here!

It's Alessio Di Basco.

Winning one of a couple of stages of Andy Hampsten's Giro...

Re: Mike's next bike : Bianchi TSX

Great looking frame and echo the comments about using as is rather than repainting.

You want to watch those pedals though as I've heard that in use the body can unscrew from the axle ......
