are you going to strip the frame of paint then?

Definitely... not sure what I’m going to find though... I suspect it might be just a layer of black gel coat rather than a nice weave

Re:

Some had a weave...it will be a voyage of discovery...I can recommend Subaru Obsidian Black as a colour :D

Wow Peachy...The choice of parts is spot on...we are going to have quite the carbonfest at MM20 :D

I have been tempted by a Y in the past especially the naked carbon one's. Looking forward to the build thread

Of course all of those parts had been collected in the vain hope that one day they would grace a Lotus... but as the nearest I’ve come to getting one would have required £2k, I thought a cheap old Y-11 would be a more affordable alternative...

If you haven't got a Lotus why not go a bit whacky and build a Volkswagen Trek the two coloured Yellow and Black like this -

Cool thread, cheers for pointing me towards it….. but I have my mind set on a naked carbon job. Although if I find no weave under the blue metallic, I may change my mind…

Re: Look what the cat dragged in................... a ‘96 Y-TREK

Right, it's fully striped down.....

Now what do you think I'm going to do with this? IMG_4227.JPG

Drillium?

Carbon wrap/hydro-dip?

Polish it!

Option 3 of course!. Peachy likes a shiny

Re: Look what the cat dragged in................... a ‘96 Y-TREK

I did a little weigh-in as I stripped the Y down, 11.8Kg or just over 26lb. I expect this will drop, just not sure by how much as the target for this build will be more towards style rather than weight loss.

And just because Spud likes a table;

What are "Brifters"

'Brifters' are for those that Brift.

Obviously.

I'm Brifting right now, in the kitchen (where you will always find me at parties), with the neighbours looking on.
