After recently buying the bike in my other post project 1, I got a bit greedy and wanted to rescue another 26mhz so after bartering with someone on ebay for this bike,

We agreed a more reasonable price given that the frame needed repair work and most of the components looked like they had been sanded down, I just wanted the frame..

The bike arrived a week later and to my shock the sale was a shambles.. The crank was worn beyond use and the fatty forks had been cut down by Stevie wonder, the seller had literally nipped the stem onto the steerer using 1 bolt to make it look OK for the ebay photos

Frame end cap had corroded and someone previous still painted the bike for why I don't know without repairing it.

I then took the frame to a local frame builder near me to see options for repairing the corrosion to the end cap,

The chap reccomend brazing the frame,..

The frame was then sent off with my other bike in 'project1" to be coated, in the beautiful ivory colour

I forgot to mention that I decided to get the cannondale fork steerer tube extended by my local machinist. I sourced some 1" and 1'1/8" steerer tubes and had the steerer sleeved and extended making the join overall 4mm thick and tig welded at spot points and in the center join. Again these we're sent to the coaters aswell.
