Your bike is just lovely. I think the Colstar may be the same as the Holdsworth Special - the catalogue entries are near identical. My 1981 Special renovation is pictured below. I used modern 700c wheels with Shimano R650 brakesIMG_1481.JPG

Yes that's exactly what it is, I think Holdsworth also re badged the Elan as the Claud Butler Italia.
Gorgeous looking Special BTW....well done on the restoration.

Nice, I have an old Special frame that was given to me. Some previous owner cut all the lugs of to make a fixie of it. I have got most of the lug ready to repair it and was thinking of painting it exactly the same a the one you have here having seen that picture in the catalog. Nice to see a real example of it.
