Overbury's Pioneer 1988 Updated 2021

Have been able to get to some of my bikes that haven’t seen the light of day for a while due to being boxed in in the garage! I came by a set of tyres which while aren’t for hard riding look much better on this build than the ones I had originally put on.

I love a survivor bike, it still has a few marks but is in otherwise amazing condition for over 30 years old. This one has had a strip/grease/new cables and now replaced tyres. The QC sticker is even still under the seat!

lovely bike, such subtle colours and great to see an original survivor

even after I donned my 88 in deore I couldn't help but want to take it back to its original factory fitted exage group, as pointed out, it was a short lived groupset although mine has black derailleurs and a more Mountain LX thumbie setup... Strange how a groupset can be so different within a year.

From what I’ve read I’m lucky the thumbies on my bike are still in one piece! The version on yours look a lot less plastic and less likely to snap.
