ignoring some one be a part of being ignorant i.e that you are acting in an uneducated unsophisticated manner , as we all know it is perceived as rude to ignore someone

but no, they have very different meanings

Its used up here in such a fashion, if someone regularly ignored you our was curt and rude, you would call them an ignorant ****.
 
1.Lacking knowledge or awareness in general; uneducated or unsophisticated.
2.Lacking knowledge, information, or awareness about something in particular: "ignorant of astronomy".

No you mean (if you were going to misuse the work within context of this discussion) "I am going to be ignorant(meaning rude and/or taking no notice) and ignore this thread."
 
It's happening with a lot of words nower days, meanings changing etc etc , they have even removed the word gullible from the dictionary !

Gullible, adj. said of something that can be easily transformed into a seabird.
