Had a tendon repair last Monday and was put in semi plaster but tonight the itching got to much so with a little force took the bandage off and the plaster at the bottom off had a really good scratch hand weak and floppy thinking I might have damaged the work done. There is improvement to hand movement to pre op though and managed to strap it back up again.

no sympathy should be the result

Itching means it is healing back together. I have used a knotting needle to get inside a leg plastercast but it was only temporary relief.

I just got a cast off my lower leg, and a wound I had prior to slamming my ankle had been a secret to me until now. Just about healed, but itchy as hell. Tempting as hell to whack it with something but I need it healed fast! I would get back to the doc if I was you, don't want to delay your recovery!

agree
As a child i pulled my tendon partly off the bone in my ankle and was in plaster for about 4 months.About 3/4 way through i had itching and a bit of pain so went back to the hospital and they removed it and put on another. They told be that if i use something poked down to scratch an itch i could break the skin but not notice due to the pain and that it could become easily infected.
I agree with ^^ Go to the doc to have it checked out that everything is A ok and healing nicely. It takes only 1/2 hour to swop them over and worth it as they can get a look inside and make sure its all ok instead of leaving it to pot luck over the length of the healing.
Expect all the colours of the rainbow
