This is my second 'proper project'
, I started this project in December when I bought the frame and forks from a guy in this very parish. I'd refurbished a Raleigh Equipe last summer and took it on a touring holiday around Normandy taking in a couple of stages of the TDF. I just fancied something a bit more racy, so here is my 2003 Principia Rex E, weighing in, if my scales are accurate at about 8kg.
I wanted the whole thing to be Campag equipped, and that's pretty much what it's got in various guises.
Frame: Principia Rex E
Forks: Isaac full carbon.
Chainset: Veloce Tripe 52/42/30 (need it for the hills at my age, going to see how it goes as the 53/39 nearly killed me last summer...)
Rear Mech: Veloce
Front Mech: Veloce
Cassette: Veloce
BB: Veloce
Brakes: Chorus
Shifters: Mirage
Wheels: Campag Scirocco 35mm
Tyres: Vittoria Rubinos (used 'em last summer, quite liked 'em)
Saddle: Charge Spoon
Pedals: Time iClic Xpresso racer.
Bars, Seat Post and Stem all Ritchey.
The only thing that managed to stay Shimano is the band for the Front mech. Campag 35mm bands in silver seem to be ridiculously priced!
Quite a lot of the components were sourced, very reasonably, from the classifieds on this site.
Can't wait to get out on the bloody thing.
Hopefully this link will take you to a couple of photos...
