Why not full housing up to the V-brake noodle thingy?
On my ‘93 I have cable stops on the front of the TT but not at the rear, so I have to break the outer and add a rear somehow or remove the front…

It’s not ideal but the neatest solution I could find.

Can’t find a pic that shows front and back clearly, but you get the idea…

Guessing my 93 Catalyst has a similar configuration.

I used one of these for the cable stop at the front of the TT:

But I made sure to use housing that does not compress as easily as the old Shimano stuff with the coil inside.


Looks like this in the end and works brilliantly.

I wont need to the XT brakes are here, just need to find a suitable cable stop for the front (Kona stem is built in but I'm using Ringle, as per pics
