1991 Alpinestars Ti-Mega Build ***Final Pictures Page 14 ***

Re:

I can see from your awesome photos that there are many scuffs and scratches all over the frame but mainly on the rear deraileur hanger and the rust in the seatclamp area. Autosol and some 3M pads. The seat post looks like it is backwards, the logo,I believe is for the person chasing you to see? Last but not least Jagwire Lex? Oh no  other than that? top notch
congratulations

Fantastic eyes LF. You are right we used 4 mm Jagwire for the shifters. The correct Shimano SIS is on order. I was waiting to see how long it would take for someone to spy that!

Because of how powerful our cameras are all the imperfections are shown. We will definitely polish it with autosol and 3m post a before and after photo to see if it makes sense to do the entire bike.

Seatpost backwards? Not sure on that.... I would need some other photos from Syncros's catalog etc to make that change. Can you verify?

Great observations! I enjoy hearing from the community and getting things picked apart until a flaw cannot be found.

Which 3M pads would you use?

Re:

Use the grey ones first, brown pads are also good for adding a grain green is too soft. Deep scratches like on the mech hanger might need polishing compound but may be able to be blended in i.e creating a "grain" like stainless steel has. For a zaskar I used old cotton socks and autosol to amazing results with just one pass.
Cheers

That is lovely! It might be just the angle of the photos, but is the valve coming out the rim slightly crooked on the rear wheel?

Thank you for the tips Lord_fowl.... we just got finished buffing it out w/ Autosol. Definitely made a difference in person. I'll post photos this week for you guys to be the judge.

I think autosol only exists because of RB and it's legion of polishers :-)
