I made a dog walking attachment for my touring bike for Lucky. It was the top tube of a BSO, with the seat clamp fixed around the seatpost with a small chain at the end you attached the dog to.

It worked well, but then I bought one of these which is better:

Would some judiciously applied self fusing / amalgamating tape wrapped around it avoid that?

My dog walking mobile:-

The unused rear brake lever has been removed now, since I hold his lead with that hand, and I've put on some lock-on, ergo grips.

Works well - ideal for the sort of pace to keep him trotting along for a few miles, and kinda relaxed bimbling along.

I just use a loose lead under the hand. My other dog trots along behind no problems.
