I can't see any upper rack mounts, but if they're brazed into the stays, I agree it's a Stumpjumper. I'm finding it hard to judge proportions from the pictures, but I'm fairly sure that's oversized steel and a 1 1/8" headset. That would make it no earlier than '95, so I'm going to say '96. That would fit with the serial number. If it's got a canti bridge, that would fit too. I think the '95 used a noodle guide at the seat cluster.
