can anyone recommend a stand for working on bikes?

I use an Aldi branded work stand and its a durable piece of kit it may not be up to the rigours of commercial use but for a hobbyist it's great. well worth £25

For occasional use I can't fault the £25 bike repair stand I got from Aldi/Lidlington.

Totally agree - I've had mine for years and it does the job.

In all honesty and about 4 years down the line, its beginning to suffer. knobs for the clamps are slipping and for the most part I use a spanner to adjust things.

I also think the cradle part of the clamp is badly shaped :?

That said, better than none and cheaper than most. Done the job for years so you cant really complain at that. And the body of it is all there so you can bodge repairs to it to keep it working.
