Park race stand mods for modern rigs (BRING OUT YOUR STANDS…)

for those with little space, have you considered one of these?
I have on inside the workshop which is somewhat hampered for space. it's great for about 90% of the tasks needed on a bike (setting bars and saddles being one of those you can't do :) ).

In the early days it was a fence post, gate, table, chair whatever was at hand, then
after a while something better was needed, I had a go at making some kinda wall clamp
thing using bar ends, spirit level and assorted thread bar, aluminium, anything at hand. 0.JPG

If anything it gave me plenty of thread tapping practice, as for a wall stand,
it was ok for a while, before long it showed to be limited crap.

After more bikes, enough was enough, got a park tool folding stand that had a good
sturdy base, was happy with this till through axles, longer wheel base and all manner of
other bike changes happened, now its time to try and sort things again.

As of now the plan is to fit a pole into folding stand and fix a clamping arm to it.
Apart from pole being wrong OD reckon it can be done : )
