Just a throw, maybe Elswick Hopper. I don't know if Warwick built their own frames or bought them in and rebadged. The frame number side seatlug would match with a 1930 year. I have found an E-H bicycle with number on top of seatlug...

Again, I am probably wrong. Would be odd for a Birmingham shop to buy frames in Newcastle.

How does the frame number B12343 equate to 1930 I wonder?

Look on oldbike website frame numbers...
Attached a picture from a 1935 Elswick Hopper Light Roadster, looks quite similar... Again, I am probably wrong Love a puzzle.

About the other bike - I mixed up 2 threads :facepalm: but I did see an Elswick with the frame number on top of the seatlug yesterday night (not sure if I can find it again).

Funny fact - Elswick was famous for their finish! Apparently their frames were chrome plated :idea: it would be too much of a coincidence of they both were Elswick's. Looking at the 1936 catalogue they used to have some 21inch clubman / racers.

Could be any builder tbh...

Nice scan....I hadn't seen that one. 1935? It has the same chainwheel as well.

You could be onto something. Elswick rebadged as aWarwick.

Regarding the other frame (sports) I would be very interested to see the frame number on top of the seat lug if you could find that pic. That one is a real mystery.

But the finish on the frame after stripping could mean it was chromium plated before enamel/paint...
