Time to road test the British Eagle ATB I just picked up this week. So a trip to my local Sainsburys was just the thing.
First up the hill to the pedestrian railway bridge over the Mainline to Londown, a good test of the weight of a bike since there's a few steps to cary it up.

Then up the old sunken lane to Badger's Farm, quite a climb and a bit rooty in places

The bike did really well, felt nimble but still on knobblys so quite grippy.

I was tempted to ride down thse last two smaller flights of steps on the way back but fortunately decided to go back the long way on the road. The road way is much quicky and has a fast downhill stretch that I have managed over 50kph on my road bike, so a good test for the high speed stability of the BE. It passed and no trip to the A&E for me

Here is the bike as it is now after a stem and handlebar swap and new cables. IT rides brilliantly and performs perfectly as an ATB. Just need to put a rack and some mudguards on.
