Super RARE White Industries LMDS Rear Mech CNC Goodness

I know it's on eBay right now, but I've only seen pictures of it in magazines. Don't know how many were made, but I figure it's about as rare as hens teeth....and it's NOS....

Check out the CNC shifters w/ the double cables.

Too bad there's no front mech, but the rear one looks awesome.

I had this system on a Cannondale Raven and destroyed 2 of them. White replaced them each time but I just put the third one in the display case where it still resides.

White Industries Stuff

Those were Doug White's version of an older Huret design with push-pull cable shifting-not that rare, as he made quite a number of them.

But in that brief period did the system work? Not that it really matters, this looks to be made under my favourite biking moto: Never sacrifice style for speed

Going from memory, it was a problem with the fixing bolt. I think the earlier ones were way too soft and broke under load which threw the derailleur into the wheel. The second one was supposed to be harder but it broke as well. The third was supposed to be even harder (heavy use) but I gave up by then. The shifting action was pretty crisp with the aluminum shifter and positive spring but quickness wasn't great with the long braided cables.

Blatently ripped from MTBR VRC where there's an Otis Guy tandem with this set up fitted.
