The pros would finish off with tape as extra security just incase the melted plastic come unstuck, wouldn't want it unraveling mid sprint. If you don't want tape showing go for clear or double sided tape or glue it

Generally we didn't bother with the Benotto plugs, preferring push in items and then used a contrasting plastic insulation tape at the central end. Some people covered that tape with metallic or retro-reflective tape so it would flare in photographs.
