Hi - got this bike absurdly cheap!!! came with cooks cranks too and was quite severely pitted and scratched and the decals weren't great so decided to completely strip and start again

here are some pics of her when she arrived!

Looking great 8)

I'm currently polishing an Orange E3 frame, started off with 600 grit wet and dry and brillo soap pads but eventually just resorted to plain steel wool and Scotchbrite pads, used Autosol for the polishing/buffing up, starting to look good. (after about five hours  )

yeah that was the first pass with wet and dry!! Polished some with autosol but still needs some work with the wet and dry so will do that again!!

Oh yeah and the manitous are definitely going!!

I bought this Zaskar ages ago for buttons, it was a lovely bike but i tinkered with it, decided it was too small and sold it :(

I wish i'd just cleaned it up and kept it. As for the Manitous, with new elastomers they work just fine. I picked up a couple of sets of Mag21's but finding some that work ain't simple (or cheap) and IMO the Manitous with new elastomers are a cheaper and simpler option if you actually want a rider. Although i agree Mag's look better and are more 'fitting'.

hey - here are a couple of pics after the first round of autosol - still a few spots that need some more attention with the wet and dry - but not looking too bad!!!
