On One Parkwood

Re:

My mate (beavis on here) just got one of these with the stock Deore build. Was impressed to see that even though the website pics show Revs from a few years ago the fork on his bike are the current ones.

Agree with Deore brakes. Hard to spend more on anything else.

First ride since the snip...

Nice and chilly out there... Good night ride.

Charge spoon in err... Lime and nukeproof electrons.

Love this bike

Doubt I will be ripping up anything! But am enjoying it so far. A lot.

Yes, really up for AC mate. I'll send you a message about a date. Then pray for my knee. Sunday, no can do I am afraid. Although I would really love too..

Re:

So the weather here in Devon has been appalling for a month or so now. To start with, because it has been such a good Autumn, the ground was still nice and firm. Now the saturation point has been well and truely reached and my local trails are a bog.

Went exploring for dry bridleways last night and found one new one that I wasn't sure of before, but most parts of East Hill in East Devon are currently a bog. I also put my foot in a small puddle half way around which meant the last 4 miles riding on the road to home was horrible as my toes were freezing!

The grip in these conditions is difficult, but these Onza Lynx tyres really are brilliant. Might see if they do them in 26" size for my kili e stay if I ever get it built up this winter.

Overall this is such a fun bike. I chop and change my modern bike every few years when I get bored but I really think this is everything I could want. It's just such a fun bike to ride and I wouldn't change any component on it for now (bike snobs yes - it is only deore).

Excuse the rubbish camera photos. Rear light as I cycled on the road a few miles there and back.

Re:

The self indulgence of this thread continues..

Last night I entered the 20km "mud and sweat" race at Haldon. Night ride. Conditions were abysmal due to the rain. Four laps. First was slow as mass start so it was pretty congested and had to literally walk parts like an adult balance bike as was waiting for others in front. Second was same and despite being held up in the downs couldn't overtake many on the ups as was too unfit. Third and fourth much clearer path but legs had gone!

Arms ache today wrestling the bike in the mud. Still think the onza lynx tyres are the best I've ever had. Love em and even if filthy six inch mud had a fair but of grip.

Winter is killing this bike. Spent another hour and a half cleaning it today!
