Is Chain Reaction / Wiggle no more?

I'm in the centre of Canada and have ordered from both companies in the past. It seems that the CR/Wig websites are still there but aren't quite the same.

Are they in fact the same companies?

I'll sometimes order from bikecomponents.de or bike24 as well. BUT, postage to here is 35 Euro, for even the smallest of components. Yeouch. Chain reaction or Wiggle postage was either 9 or 14 dollars Canadian, for tires, wheels etc. Amazing.

Wow, where to start.

The short version is - RIP both (and yes they were the same company, though not until the 2010s IIRC when Wiggle bought CRC).

The websites live on but are now owned by Mike Ashley, a man who people may have opposing views on, but safe to say he is not someone who has any interest in keeping them as legit cycling shops or investing in the sport.

You missed the mother of all closing down sales last year unfortunately .

Remember when it started after Butler Cycles closed in Southsea, Portsmouth. Tiny little shop on the corner at the end of a terrace. Remember buying a USE seatpost, Svelte pedals and lusting after other bits and bobs.

Ive use several times and never had issues, but there is a minimum spend for delivery IIRC
