As someone who used to carry out such tests I can say quite categorically that IQ tests measure the ability to do IQ tests.

Had one done by a pshyc when i was a teenager and in my early 20's which was 145 but after lots of drugs and a couple of breakdowns oh and stagnating age......i think it might be noticably less now :shock:

....................the more you do those type of tests the better you become up to a point. All i remember of the teenage test was my maths was below average ,other stuff was a tiny bit above, but my object assembly was one point below the highest score on the graph...........i could do the puzzles almost with out looking or thinking..........not so hot now though
