But there was an program on radio 4 this afternoon with some interesting points for and againsy wearing a cycle helmet - makes interesting listening!

Some interesting points about how you are treated by other road users if you are wearing a helmet or not. Some one did some research where they rode around london with and without a helmet and recorded the distance that cars passed each time. He found that if you had a helmet on car actually passed closer to you with the cases of "really" close dramatically increasing!

A woman that worked with crash victims had some good points - basically saying that you are more protected wearing a helmet using a laptop as an analogy.

The presenter also pointed out at the end that it is a difficult subject with many arguments for and against and ultimately it is down to personal choice...

So does this now put an end to this pointless bullying of the crash hat wearers of us non crash hat riders. As i will never wear one
(except to go racing) I'd even be happy to sign a form for the organizers to clear them if i didn't race with a hat and hurt my self.
