Canabalism of spinergy wheel (cooked) ridden and good as new

Slight difficulty will be pulling the blades apart to assemble the anodized bits which have to be put together first :? and then glued :!: I am going to make some wedges up to open the blades out and then should be able to fit the red centre tube :D then I can cover it in glue and push the assembled hub through the wheel and check it is true before the glue sets  Should be fun

Interesting job indeed.

Where did you get the spare rear hub from? A broken wheel?

Also how on earth did you get an epoxyed hub out?

What glue are you using too? Did you find what spinergy used or are you going with 'araldite max'?

I was wondering about the disassembly process also :)

Is there any way of doing a dry assembly run and marking up the alignment of things, rather than having to potentially shuffle bits about before the glue goes off?

I have used a two part glue called scotchweld9323 as recomended by several people on here and the aerospace industry,You do not really have to line it up as the carbon and the hub are an interference fit and if you put it together in the same order then it will be level,The original epoxy type glue was absolutely solid but a dremel engraving tool with a diamond drill bit 0,25 mm cleaned it all out but took me two sessions of about two hours a time  anyway pics below and all finished wil notl ride it for 48 hours just to let the glue set properly.Oh and the spare hub came from a donor wheel that had its spinergy brake surface wear out,but was still intact otherwise :D pics below all finished 8)
