Maaan, I totally forgot about the twist shift - it had a wee window that changed colour to show what gear you were in. Mine's was red, but had different (earlier?) decals.

Yeah that advert is for the Grifter Mk2.
The orignals had lovely deep metallic paint - very first batch was mid-blue (quite rare) which was superceded by the red.
twist grip coloured dots were blue 1st gear yellow 2nd gear & red 3rd gear

I had a grifter hand me down from my big bro. My dad painted it for me with something like Hammerite. I'm sure that added about a stone to the bike, it was a monster
