They had a free flexi single on the cover of an early MBUK?

Two tracks, one of which was a kind of a dub cover version of 'No More Heroes' by The Stranglers.

Anyone remember that? Evern if you'd prefer not to?

Think they may have been London Messengers. Rode Muddy Foxes IIRC.

:D :?

Cowell

Nope - like the sound of a dubwise Stranglers cover, mind. My only pop meets MTB rememberance was Jesus Jones - wasn't the lead singer liable to hang around the XC race paddock from time to time BiTD??

Can't imagine today's breed wanting to be seen near a mountain bike...

Mr K

Yeah Mike Edwards is still an mtb'er and I believe still the frontman of JJ, although I haven't seen much from them for a few years.

It wasn't as good as it sounds though Mr K, it was a bit weird.

I have a very vague recollection of...well everything really but particularly a flexi single on one of the bike mags way back when.

other than that......nothing. :?

Must have made a big impression.

JJ havent had a record deal scince "Already" But I think they have a Import album floating around somewhere from 07!

Boss (Drum)

I can remeber a cover mount single, but think I recall a feature in Mountain Biker (international!) nthat had interview with a pop star and rode a British Eagle 'Boss' bike (big yellow alu frame circa 91-92)

Anybody remember when MBUK ran a rave on a bikes feature?!

The only Boss I remember was the British Eagle Boss DX, fat tubed MTB, was yellow with big black BOSS on the downtube.

Kinda cool, and you could buy it via your Mum's catalogue

Anyway, in answer to Wu's original post.....no

Wasn't there a biking magazine editor who also had a band? Either Ned's Atomic Dustbin or Carter the Unstopable Sex Machine or possibly a combination of the two barely remembered names!

Fruitbat out of Carter USM was into cycling, think he was a roadie though. No links to any mags that I'm aware of.

Richard Ashcroft owns (or owned) a bright green GT bravado or somesuch.
