1994 MARIN Bull Frog Trail build / rebuild save thread

Yes, the "Bull Frog Trail" is basically an "Indian Fire Trail" model. Exact same frame.

The only difference was the name given (for the german/european market) and 2 parts of the group set. Both were listed as Shimano XT equipped. But the Bull Frog came with XT crankset and XT cantis instead of LX like on the Indian Fire Trail.

Not so much of a huge difference - but still one of the rarer Marin models so to say.

Several new parts have arrived on this saturday. Including a NOS vintage Marin jersey-jacket :D

...to be continued!

Latest news, July, 7th, 2020.

Cleaned, lubricated and installed the XTR bottom bracket, cleaned and installed the XTR crankset and received a Ringle Modjo hanger ...one more is still on my wanted list! As you can see, the crankset has some scratches. Compared to the usual FC M900 set, its in pretty good shape with nice logos. My goal is not, to have all NOS or museum-like parts. They have to look just fine, thats alright with me!

And some make-over for the XT pedals. Too bad the one front had a bigger scratch on it.

New pictures. This build is almost done. I also found this pretty rare saddle bag and was glad to put it on - or to store it. For occasions.

Things left to to:

* Still in search of a 34.8 clamp FD-M900 front mech (for a fair price)
* Putting all cables on
* Repairing 2 or 3 decal letters
* Front and rear Mech setup
* Some grips (orignal Marin preferred)

Then we`re good to go!

Hi Old School Grand Master

Basically its the Indian Fire Trail (frame) with 2 higher group items and a different name for the german market. Im sure you already read it in my previous posts.

Keep coming in! Cheers
