Just discovered this thread in the eBay section and imagine my surprise to find the apparent one and only 1988 MuddyFox Prestige was recently up for sale on eBay. This bike was allegedly a promo stunt by MuddyFox, to have a super halo bike on their stand at Earls Court (I think) in 1988 and was the only one produced as who seriously had 5k (this is nearly 12k in today's money) to spend on a bike! It's great it has surfaced and hopefully the seller who decided not to sell in the end will visit here and share it with us.

Carl,

Still gutted (but to be honest not very surprised) not to get this for the £25 asking price!
The seller wouldn't budge once he had worked out what he has got. I offered hundreds over the asking price without success.
At least the owner now knows it's something special and it won't end up on the tip or languishing in a shed.
I do have a soft spot for Muddy Foxes though am yet to own one, John Lewis in Peterborough always had a range on display in their sports department when I was a kid. The smell of the tyres and the lime green paint on a courier comp coupled with never remotely having the chance of getting one for Christmas have fuelled this! My Raleigh Marauder never quite made up for this.

Nice to know it is still out there. Is it the one from the brochure though as the brochure one has different decals.

Cant believe this one slipped me by, was it on ebay for long?

Brochure one has 87 decals, which if the Iinformation is true (Andy did say he was at the show) could have been changed between photo shoot and show to the 88 decals.

;) Cheer Carl

Still, its great its still about and in original condition.

Hopefully it will find its way onto this site so we can all appreciate it.

If Andy has anything to do with it probably, he seemed to not be short of a few quid and wthis was his ultimate unicorn.
