The headset is the modern type, but these were not uncommon on quality 1930s lightweights, while the headclip type was still being specified by some makers right up into the late 1940s, and sometimes later if the customer wanted one.
See what I mean about how difficult it is to accurately date bikes from the 1930s and 1940s period?
Maybe we should organise a Retrobike pre-1950 ride...
