Hired a bike hence the plasticity thing.
Only the rider and his clothing is retro today.

Ooh....some TT action
Visiting road courses always ups my respect for the racers. You kind of get the idea of what it is like on telly but when you see it for real it is a different thing all together. So narrow, bumpy, and nowhere to go if it goes wrong.
I always watched the World of Sport coverage of the Bathurst 1000, back in the 70's-80's. They had the start and an hour of racing and i was blown away by it.
Fast forward some years and i went there in 92 and 93, for the "Big Race".
It was the 93 event when i borrowed a tuned up Toyota and did a few laps , when the roads were open , between racing. My respect went off the scale when i experienced it from the drivers seat.
The cops were out on Conrod Straight ,with speed guns , so had to take it easy but did manage to get some wheels in the air through the Dipper

. Same rise in levels of respect when i went to Adelaide for the GP. Fecking bonkers!
There still are some purpose built race tracks that are very unforgiving, undulating, and narrow but road courses take the biscuit.
