Today's Ride

I have a pathological aversion to bottle cages - I have no idea why, but whenever I buy a bike to restore, if it has them, they are the first thing to go in the bin.

It does mean that on hot days I need to carry water in a back pack, or frame bag. This really doesn't make any logical sense, I know. But if I did logical things, I wouldn't have a shed full of ancient bikes.. 😄.

...anyway, this is a often-listed stop - All around this bench are Yellow Jacket nests. I sat for a while, but they started getting agitated ,so I moved on

White deer are a little unusual - they pop-up in folklore in a lot of different places

It's pretty dry in the park - this pond is almost dry

Heading home after about 15km - warm 28C no wind - Total elevation 39ft (railway bridge)

Beautiful bike, white stag and sunset there.
Amazing.

Cheers, it's one of my favourites :)

In Celtic tradition White stags are considered to be messengers from the Otherworld, a realm beyond this mortal one. Their appearance is often seen as a portent for change, an omen, good or ill, or as a warning against some transgression perpetrated in defiance of the order of things.

Bottle cages, it must be the absence of bottle cages that roused the ire of the old Gods.

Heh, you could well be right...but still not fitting one. I'll have a Venison burger instead! (although killing a white deer is supposed to bring bad luck too)
