Yes but a bit too late to use hammers, and the left cup seems to have an extra bit in it so the tool won't fit either...

What's the extra bit? Something that could be drilled away/down so you could fit the tool? Is it like a spacer thing?

Yes it is like a sleeve inside the bearing going to try knocking it out in the morning.
