What constitutes 'bumping' your own ad....??

I would have thought the best clarity would have come from a pm to the mods rather than starting a thread?

The advantage of a public thread is that anyone else (me, for example) who was puzzled by (for example) the public reprimand that The History Man received on the classified forum can read the discussion, learn, and contribute. I couldn't see anything wrong with his conduct, and the consensus in this thread seems to be that there was nothing wrong with his conduct.

If a public reprimand is appropriate, surely a public discussion is also appropriate.

Enough of the chit-chat guys this ads been bumping all evening.

Certainly felt like being singled out. Lots of other threads out there that contain far more contentious material, views and 'bumps'. Is the soft porn with bikes thread still running?

It seemed clear to me that that's exactly what he had been doing: responding to enquiries, not bumping his ad.
