What are the washers made from?
You should be able to work out bearing sizes from the parts you've got.

re. washers: i don't know

i've measured the bearing cup (29.70mm) - should/can i get a bearing unit that size? i measured it with digital calipers but i doubt its an accurate measurement. do the bearings need to be very snug? (i.e. too big) and then tapped/pressed in? do i need to measured the depth of the cup?

Looking at the pictures, the hole in the swing arm will determine the bearing size, the "washer" you talk about, to me looks like a spacer between the swing arm and the frame.

Does the frame have a thread in the swing arm pivot hole or is a plain hole?

It's threaded. I have an old catalogue pdf somewhere that says what the bolt size is for it. I ll dig it out...

My guess would be M10, Is the hole in the swing arm where the bearing goes 35mm and at least 12mm deep?

The washer fits inbetween the frame and the bearing, with the step next to the bearing.
