I'd like to think he can go with a big V8 or V6 as these engines are not thrashed like smaller engines & just go on for ever & ever & in the long run will work out cheaper hence lots of bargains to be had at the moment. Having owned a big Australian car, a 4.2l Ford Falcon I'd not recommend one for the UK. Mine wasn't super reliable either, it broke down in the outback.
