Maclean's Featherweight - 1930s (I think?)

New purchase -
Maclean's Featherweight which is think is 1930s from a little bit of research.

Any thoughts /idea's on narrowing the year down would be gratefully received.

Seller's photos and they have the paintwork as original.

That's a smasher for sure! And it bears an uncanny resemblance to my old Langsett - which I think is also 1930s. Chater Lea (?) lugs, strikingly similar dropouts and fork crown and the braze on eyes for 'guards part way up the forks and stays. The top of your seat stays have a different finish though - mine are very blunt and look a bit crude. My frame number is on the LHS of the headset lug. Is yours?

And your paintwork looks in probably recoverable condition too. All round a super find.

Hi, looks to be around 1937 ish, to confirm its a maclean there should be a small letter to the left ( looking at the picture ) of the serial number on the seat lug, if you are looking at the serial number at 90 degrees just above it, does this make sense, it is difficult to explain, but there should be a small letter stamped near the number. This should be on the fork steerer as well. Thanks Terry

Thanks for the your thoughts on narrowing down the age and will examine the seat lug for a letter and number when it arrives.
