I've cycled since I was 20 (now 35) and have done audaxing most of it. Had a few crashes over the years but largely minor. My wife came off on a lane last night and broke her back. She was going about 5mph when the bike went from under her!

It doesn't look stable now so she in a full back brace and still in hospital. I still can't believed it happened. We're not old and she wasn't going fast.

It’s crazy how a small fall can result in a major injury.
