300k in a day anyone?

I've managed a whole 99k on a mountainbike with fat tyres with only tea and cake

But, not having normally pedaled that far, I thought I'd broken a lung (having asthma and all that) after cycling through the haze generated by this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-no ... e-15463845

Until I'd seen the news, I really really thought I'd done some damage!

Maybe do HONC next year? 100k more on road than off but some nice off-road sections too. And you get to catch up with your old buddy, the one they call THM

Most Audaxes run by Audax UK are 8 quid or less!!
You can ride what you like, but mudguards are mandatory sometimes.

The Winter Solstice run starts just down the road from me.
200k on the shortest day of the year is described as 'An easy, low-lying event with no big climbs, as befits the time of year.'

I'm glad the mudguard rule is more relaxed as I use guards. Hate the bloody buggers. Well one bike has them and I only use that when it so wet guards dont help anyway.

They say steel bikes. They forget that Alan was doing aluminium frames before 87 so was vitus. So if you turned up on one of these would that be frowned upon along with the original look pedals from 1985. After the clip less idea goes back to the 1890's so it's hardly new.

It's not my fault my retro was ahead of its time and it even has period gearing I. E a choice of tall and even taller.
