Single speed? I don't get it! What's the point?

world cup racers are sponsored so have to use gears.

If any of them really thought that SS would win races, they'd find a way. It's not as if they're all using all the sponsors' kit all the time anyway ;)

Staying in one gear just isn't the same as "proper" SS. Not sure why, but it isn't.
 
Ok so here is my take!!

I had a real blast at the Forest of Dean , I love the fact as echoed above you have nothing else to think about other than pedalling and looking to keep your speed up without the option of taking it easy my only issue was I am running a little unfit to push the ratio I put on!! :LOL:

Loved it ... can see the attraction and even more when fitter!! :cool:
 
Good ratio helps, so does patience.

Built a good few over past couple of years and they certainly have all been different.

My current one was just to quickly restore my old trek I have had since new, gears were knacked, SS kit at hand, sorted......

Never touched the bike mechanically since, just use it and throw it in shed.

Always comes in handy.
