Would you be impressed if.....*RESOLVED WITH ISSUES*

I think it was so bad he's gone postal, stormed into their workshop and personally powdercoated all the members of staff together in an amusing, but disturbing tableau, decorated by his desecrated frame.

Or he's busy. :-D

Ok,

Sorry for the delay, indeed I have been a bit busy. I think I can sum up my experience easily since i last posted.

➡️ Having sorted out the alternative colour scheme with Adam (who wrote all this down, including what not to coat (brake bosses), I waited for it to be done
➡️ 16 days after the above, I found myself phoning to complain that my complaint had now taken longer than the original job!!!, to which I was told that the frame & forks were done, but just the bars and stem to go. Apologies taken but not really accepted.
➡️ After 21 days, it arrives back. Now firstly, although not the finish I wanted, it was of a good standard, but that is all I have to say, because not only did they coat over the bottom part of the rear bosses making fitting of the brakes yet again impossible, but they also painted the stem the wrong colour, and didn't mask it. I therefore took the stem to my local powdercoaters who although not able to colour match it, did it for free. So there you go, nobody listened, nobody wrote anything down properly nobody thought treating a complaint was more important than the current order book.
Will I use them again, I don't need to answer that. Will you use them, I don't care.
➡️ Oh, and while we are at it, I feel able to mention this also. a year ago, I drove to Aerocoat on a recommendation from here. I gave them my cannondale F&F bought from RAFbikes who had (very nearly) stripped it of it's red paint. I left it, went to pick it up 2 weeks later, and what do you know, coated straight over the remaining red paint. This time i didn't accept it, and it was sent to me for free 2 weeks later. Lightning and twice springs to mind.
And yes, i got my costs back for this job too, but so what, look what took place.

Cheers...Nick

Oh dear... that's a real shame Nick, sorry to hear they still haven't lived up to the general rep they appear to have (had?)..

So as I understand it they made a **** of a different bike a year ago, then made a **** of this one, then made a **** of the rework done on this one?

Don't think I'd have been back after the first time, but either way you must be pretty hacked off all round. You'd have thought it might have had some special attention second time round. Clearly not.

No excuses. Reputation is everything in business, and it's easily trashed.

-1 for Aerocoat

Agreed that it is a real shame they have ruined something you were clearly poring a lot of effort into. I hope that your entudiasm for the project is still there despite the setback. As others have said, aerocoat will not be getting any jobs from me in the future based on the hassles you have had. I know others have recommended them in the past, but you are only as good a your last job, and this one clearly wasn't up to scratch.
