Which retro machine to take to take to Glentress for Sunday?

I'm going to Glentress for the weekend and will be taking a "normal" bike for most of the weekend, and I can pack a Retro bike to meet up with a few peeps on Sunday

Now... which do I take?

Rigid Kona Explosif Singlespeed with workhorse kit

or

Geared up Dave Lloyd CATS WISKAS with finest pimpery

Both bikes are ridden hard usually but if push came to shove, came to crash, came to damage... I would much rather wreck the Explosif!

Rider wise... I'm hard as nails me. I would not think singlespeeding Glentress is beyond me and I'm thinking the challenge would be fun... I can also run the Explosif in fixie mode if it all becomes to easy for my rampant macho manlyness.

If you were regularly at GT I'd say go SS but since your only down every now and then for maximum enjoyment go for Dave. SS'in Glentress isn't bad at all but front sus does add quite a bit of fun factor. Though I've seen pics of you ragging a bike before and the DL must be a wee bit worried

I've always fancied trying the singlespeed round something other than my local routes.

An hour in the man-shed and both are looking more than up to the task... I was hoping something wrong would make the choice for me but no such luck

CATS is winning on here at the moment... but my stupidity still pulls me towards the Explosif.

If you had some front bounce on the ss then I would say go for it but I would take some forks as you will enjoy it more, take the cat and just don't change gear
