What about Thorn? They make mountain bikes but they look a little different to the norm.

Curtis are British

Need to pay more attention, for some reason I thought they were american, maybe getting confused with those cool WWII fighter planes from across the pond

you're not getting muddled up with Curtlo?

Most of the brands that are discounted as "not British" just because the bikes are made somewhere else (Whyte, Cotic, nuSaracen, Pace etc) are every bit as British as Trek and Specialized are American, if you see what I mean ;-)

I know what you mean, Mike. Chinese workers earning £50 a month make everything these days, so if the UK can't compete on the production side of manufacturing, we have to focus our efforts onto the design side.

I heard that although the iPod is made in China, a large majority of the price paid for one goes back to Apple, the people who own the intellectual property. If that applies to Orange MTBs, then I still think that it's worth buying British.
