What bike kit / bikes have you bought this year that you enjoy the most?

These 3 components are my faves - for both function and form:

Richey brake levers (bought on here from @Tootyred ) - so nice to use, and a good weight saving over Shimano.


Panaracer SimWorks 'The Homage' 1.95 inch tyres. Perfect for the terrain I ride. I love the tan wall.



Kona seat clamp to replace the cumbersome 1992 model quick release on my Explosif. Looks so much better and saves about 8 kg (!!). Thankyou @Spanky22b for this.

An ebay stem cap that is anodised greeny blue and faceted. Makes me unfeasibly happy every time it glints.

I bought 4 bicycles this year, but my favourite is this one:

Some really sexy road wheels, I love deep section rims and miss the campagnolo shamals from many moons ago so when a set of Rigida with some super smooth Mavic hubs came up cheap I simply couldn't refuse

Wtf I'm going to use them with is an entirely different question

Mtb has been a bit quiet, @Siish swapped parts so I ended up with some excellent XT thumbies to go with the levers and brakes I already have and most recently was so amazing karma from @Alison in the form of some Hope skewers

I bought lots of stuff from the tip

The Lotus and Pro-Flex went to new owners on here. The XT wheels, road mech and Crud Guards are now fitted to my single speed.

I’ve only bought modern stuff this year but as a result have ridden 1000 miles more than last year.

Two retro projects in the shed for 2024 but I refuse to pay current prices for old tat so they’re on hold

This is promising I'm thinking these are going to be the solution for replacing the near 40 year old Hutchinsons on my best buy of the year:
