We are leaving! (broadband suppliers...)

thanks for the opinions!

but me and the mrs think roughly £28 for just broadband is a fair old amount!
i guess wed be looking at that sort of price for phone and broadband
(and i guess phone calls would be on top but thats expected)
is that realistic? :?

ok
found plusnet one (just having a quick browse)
seems a fair deal, would probably go with 1 month contract thing
but i dont understand the little pricing drop down bit
(very bottom - plusnet extra)

and 60gb limit seems very fair, but its good to have the unlimited security although im pretty sure i dont/wont download that much (would be great if you could see how much you have downloaded - would be plenty happy with that)

I've used Force9 since it's incarnation in Sheffield, which is now Plusnet.

I only use their email now, i.e. a free account, as I've had it for longer than I can remember as they cannot supply us here and in between NTL was just a much better option.

We don't have a choice here for supplier, well if you discount mobile phone options.

Nice chaps even on support (well chapesses), that an the memories of testing out their QuakeWorld server suring it's initial setup stages, heaven back when Quake was new :)

Watch for the setup fee on 1 month contracts (I just looked)

10G limit is fair, I am hard pushed to get past that unless I download linux iso etc, which I don't.

Even mild iPlayer doesn't get me pst the limit.

60GB is overkill for me.

On a one month contract I would assume you can switch ?

erm the setup fee fo rthe one month jobbie was £25, and buy our router or bring your own

fair price in my eyes
probably cheaper to buy your own but that would be an after thought

the 60gb would probably do me, but i download games on occasion and films and music etc. and xbox live also. but still should be ok

(do they have a monitor thing for it?)

do you know the pricing thing which i said about, plusnet extra? area coverage something something something :?

yeah you have a very good idea actually! switching, might have to consider that also, 30 day contract is great too

even if you cant switch, i guess you can just switch next month, not sure what that would entail though. maybe easy as pie...

If you are going to switch, check the cashback sites, TopCashBack that I use (referal code on request if you want) seems to have £28.28 cashback, not sure what uswitch are offering, though oftern cashback to uswitch to signup might get more, might get less.

AS for prices, click the link under it What is Low Cost, you'll find it catagory 3 and just under that there is an exchange checker to see what you're on.

right
i got confused with the markets thing but i understood after i read through
we are in market 3
so market 3 and plusnet extra = 11.49 throughout?
or 14.99 throughout? :?

im registered with topcashback also, but dont know how its works and whatnot
just that they love emailing me

seems like a great deal though
considering the deal below it but for an extra £3 (?) might as well as you get more calls

estimated speed is a bit slow
3.5Mb
but could vary between 2Mb and 6Mb which is ok
i dont use much speed often but getting a full 1mb/s on some downloads is great
and it will cost 14.99 a month

i understand about distance from exchange etc. but im sure i saw a plusnet fibre optic option

but it says £75 for a new phone line in, but i think we have a bt point?

TopCashBack
Go there, log in, type Plus into the search, down the list you should find them, follow the clicks.

After a few months you should hopefully have the pennies to either transfer to your bank or paypal.

CRC works well
ebay has even worked for me
PC World/Dixons has and Halfords (not that I've bought from them right! ;))

I live in option Hull so my options are easy, I guess it's the one advantage to having no options.

Direct link for you maybe, also some voucher codes there

I've just been reading this

Fresh off the grape vine - earn a £100 Naked Wines Voucher

April 6th, 2011 at 15:12 by Ryan Couldwell

To celebrate our recent win at the uSwitch awards, where we scooped 4 prizes including ‘Most Likely To Be Recommended’, we’ve teamed up with Naked Wines to put together an offer that might just tickle your fancy (and your taste buds).

For every person you refer to Plusnet, and who goes on to sign up between 6th April and 3rd May, you’ll receive a £100 Naked Wines e-voucher.

All you have to do is make sure that they sign up using the promo code ‘refer’, and enter your username in the recommended by box. They’ll need to sign up via

http://www.plus.net/refer

and they’ll receive 3 months’ free broadband as well, so there’s something in it for the both of you.

Cheers.

P.S. There’s no limit to the number of people you can sign up, so you can keep your vino supplies topped up for quite a while.

Full terms of this offer can be found here.

in their blog.

my refs simmo no idea if you'll get the 3 month or I get plonk or if it can be tagged in with TopCashback sites

You have too many options.
£11.49 seems to be Extra in area 3 for broadband only
(or +£11.99 for line rental* with phone)

£14.99 + £11.99 line rental (*switch from BT I assume ?) would be broadband and Anytime Calls,

You could hit their online chat ?

not sure whats going on with the options or what you mean with them

i take it as just 14.99 plus 11.99 for line rental

but, we are currently on/switching from virgin (have a month to decide but dont want to be without internet/retrobike  or for as short time as possible)

if we go plusnet though, i might follow through  with that offer, great for both 8) will mention you if i do

ooo online chat! sounds good 8)
