I believe Rumpfy shares a love for stumpjumpers, which are mass produced, mid-level, and sometimes retro bikes. I've had a few conversations with him, and bushpig, and fatmike, and they all seem like good guys to me.
I've also had conversation with GM and everything seemed fine with him as well. One time he did critique a possible sale of a bike, and shipping error I had to the UK, but I didn't take it for more than it was...it became nothing more.
I have nearly 1500 posts here, and many more reads. I have just as many reads over on vrc, but only like 15 posts. I love old bikes, but have never thought it could get to the level it has.
quite frankly, I believe this to be an internet phenomenon, where, due to the nature of remotely sitting behind a keyboard while conversing with others who are doing the same, suspicions can arrise; tones can be misunderstood, and intentions misconstrued...leaving just a slightly paranoid person feeling nearly insane.
I'm a longtime/high post count poster on a couple other large forums, (Honda-Tech.com and Sherdog.com, sherdog has a slogan for Mods- they worship the devil, haha), where similar issues have occured. It's just par for the course with internet forums...that's my take. (Forgive the typos; it's late).
Wait wait, I do have one complaint against Bushpig and Rumpfy...they are incredibly slow at leaving feedback on ebay when one buys from them 
....
