Rumpfy - Specializing in Vintage Mountain Bikes and Components

Why you're here, why I'm here.

If you've made it as far as the 'about me' page, chances are that you're a mountain biker. And not just any mountain biker...You and I make up a small (but quickly growing) number of MTB enthusiasts with a passion for the 'golden years of mountain biking'. Vintage, Retro, Classic...it doesn't matter the name you give it. I refer to a time when mountain biking was at the top of it's game. Innovative bikes hand made by mountain bikers for mountain bikers. A plethora of trick aftermarket parts offered in a rainbow of anodized colors. If any of this is familiar, then you're here to find that special part to finish off that restoration you've been working on. I hope that I have what you're looking for, and if there is anything that I can do to help you (and the Vintage MTB community) in their quest, feel free to email me. I love vintage MTB's. If I'm not selling something retro, I'm bidding on something retro. I know the feeling of having that package finally arrive on your doorsetp or mail box. That package with the part or frame you've spent the last several months looking for. Because I know that feeling, I will always be as forthcoming and honest in my auction descriptions. I'll do my best to provide clear pictures of what I'm selling. I will also take the greatest care in wrapping and shipping what is being sent to you. It matters to me as I'm sure it matters to you! -eric-
The Vintage Mountain Bike Community is a Small World
One of the greatest things that is quickly becoming apparent to me, is how small this world can seem within the vintage MTB community. With increasing consistency there is a pattern of us eBay users bidding and selling the same items. Some of us look to remain a quiet participant, and understandably so. For myself, I have found great pleasure in making new friends and building trusting relationships with those that share my passion for vintage mountain bikes. This hobby, (different from the sport and pastime of mountain biking in general) requires active participants and it's fair share of networking. It is as enjoyable to me as tracking down that hard to find part.

When a man is this heartfelt about a subject, it's surely hard to be sceptical about any more sinister motives?

Smoke and mirrors, meetings in allyways and behind old run down car lots. Poor Rumfy and co have been set up from the start as scapegoats. If anyone knew anything they were silenced. The real price fixing cartel were the Yorkshire Area Group- a secret sect of celebrity vintage mountain bike lovers. I can reveal that Gil_M is the ringleader and his real name is Michael Parkinson OBE. His second in command is Justbackdated (real name Dame Thora Hurd). Other members of the cartel known as YVMBAPFS are respected cricket umpire Dicky Bird, Auther Scargill (one time ringleader who diverted thousands from the NUM to buy Raleigh Mustangs), Darren Gough, Brian 'six Yeti's' Blessed, the entire surviving cast of Last of The Summer Wine (another ex member was knocked off after a deal on an early Cunningham went sour) and Jerky (Sean Bean) who has recently fled down south when he saw that the whole thing was about to blow up.

This cartel have opperated for years in the outside toilets and Pidgeon coups of the Barnsley area for years. Parkinson and Hurd setting up legit businesses doing decals and servicing forks as cover, whilst Gough and Blessed broke bones and bred a culture of fear and intimidation.

No one is now safe now this knowledge is in the public domain.

Be affraid!

I want in! Who's ferret do I have t' fettle?
Mi real name's Sir Geoffrey Boycott by't way...

there's an old mine near Selby which is chock full of Emelles, Mavericks and NOS Exage groupos....

... an old geezer with lank hair keeps the pesky kids at bay using spooky noises generated by an old fair ground ride; but if you know t'code, you're in.
