Mondeo? Thats the spring, mine snapped alot.

...but you can change it yourself. I've done a lot. If you have a Haynes manual and some confidence, then the purchase of a set of spring compressors will be a lot less than the garage bill

If you do take it to the garage, they may try and get you to let them change both, and both roller bearings too, at vast expense. Beware!

that doesnt even look like the bottom (or top) of the spring, one end looks as though its been broken for ages

still, nice an easy to swap em over, but you'll (prob) need to find the colour code off the spring when you order a new un

Changed my first suspension in the mid-80's and never needed a colour code :?

yup,spring.if its from the top or bottom the rest of the spring will still work with the bounce test,it could be dangerous tho.a new spring will only be around 20-30 but labour costs will be a couple of hours.

Thanks for the help late on Sunday night boys. When it went it sounded like i'd hit another car! Spend most of the day sorting and now waiting for the part to be delivered tomorrow. It made a mess of most stuff round it as well :cry: but alls in hand i hope
So once fixed anyone want to buy and ST with one careful owner? :shock:

Yup! Chug chug chug vrooooooom! Sub 12min Nurburg lap to boot. Few years ago now though. Will be selling in a month or so, thinking about a V50 sport, another chug chug chug vroooom, or i could sell the wife and get a Rossi rep Ducati??? Now theres a thought :idea:

It would be worth replacing the spring on the other side as well as they sag over time & with just 1 new spring fitted the ride & road holding will be affected
