P7 frame repair questions/ideas- help!

Righto, so finally got back to this today- attacked the spot with a dremel as my father in law is coming around later so I thought I'd let him have a look with a view to brazing it.
Any ideas welcome at this point- I tend to think it may have rusted from outside in looking at the pitting around it, possibly with the split/crack coming due to weakening around this area?

2016-06-03_01-02-41 by sonofprent, on FlickrIt's gone for repair- he's going to strip it back further, silver solder over the damage and then tidy. Also has some kind of chroming kit so may not completely ruin the look, although I'm not too fussy given where it is (ie the underside).
Going to finally 'finish' this one with a new/old back wheel and some rc35's once it returns. Might even push the boat out an put decals on too, though I'm not a huge fan of the stickered look.
