Specialized M2 Info Thread/Serial Registry

Here's a quick clean up of my 91 M2 FS. Hardly any wear on the drivetrain/wheels/etc, but some light scratches and chips from decades in a garage. Since my serial number is "91 T"... does that mean its a team bike? Thanks again!

UPDATE: The fork actually holds air which was a surprise!
Mate! That's a stunner 👍👍

No, the T does not stand for team.
It's just a 1991 M2. The FS didn't come around until 1993, and that specific fork is from 1994 or so. The Future Shocks do tend to hold air more often than their Mag cousins in my experience, but I could just be lucky. They were Mag 20's (no top out spring) that were apparently valved like an RS-1.
Beautiful bike, I have the same frame in need of a repaint. 1991 M2s are not very common.
Dude, thanks much for the reply here. So what you're saying is... the original fork is out there somewhere? :)

Also good to know about the fork and estimated timeline around its manufacturing date.

Thanks again!

I picked up my M2 in 1995 and have put thousands of miles on it. Looks to be a 94 production according to the SN and she is next in line for a refresh, after I wrap up my Ellsworth. The carbon forks still work like new, and I can still remember the sales guy telling me to keep low pressure in them. When parts wear out, I replace them. Still on the original bottom bracket but there is an odd creak every now and then, could be my knees though.
