Ridiculous. Geoff Apps had made a sandwich from bits of bacon he'd scrounged in the late 60's. He then fitted his bike with NOS tyres that had done 1500 miles.

The value of the sandwich ought to rocket once the bread's gone seriously mouldy. I'm basing this guess on experience of Michelin Mud CX tyres, where the older green version is highly sought after with prices to match.

Your ignorance is astounding. If you really want to go back to the roots you'll find that Geoff used bacon developed by the Danish Army, and subsequently used extensively in the now famous Danepak downhill series.

Geoff Apps created this bacon in 1967. His parents ran over a cow in their car, and Geoff nipped back to cut off a few rashers :facepalm:

Apart from the tyre marks and grit, and all the other damage its in as-new condition - all sandwiches came with nacked chains and hooked chainrings when they were new.
